Job summary

BROTHERS Pro-Pave LLC in Villa Rica, GA is seeking a skilled Screed Operator (Screwman) to join our paving crew. You will operate, adjust, and maintain the screed to deliver proper depth, grade, and smooth asphalt mat quality during DOT and commercial projects.

Responsibilities include monitoring crown and joint quality, regulating material flow, reading plans, and collaborating closely with the Paver Operator and foreman to meet safety standards and production targets.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience operating asphalt paver screeds on commercial and DOT paving projects.
• Experience with CAT and Carlson screeds; ability to adapt to other makes as needed.
• Strong understanding of grades, slopes, cross-slope control, and paving electronics.
• Knowledge of Moba, Topcon, or Leica grade control systems preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and grade sheets.
• CDL preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, and adjust the screed to achieve proper depth, grade, and mat consistency.
• Control slope, crown, and joint quality for a smooth pavement finish.
• Make adjustments to maintain smoothness and uniform distribution of asphalt.
• Regulate asphalt material flow with valves and monitor temperature.
• Read plans and verify compliance with project specs.
• Collaborate with Paver Operator and crew to ensure safety and quality.
