Job summary

Summit Bechtel Reserve is seeking staff for the Justice National Scout Camp to deliver high-quality advancement and enrichment experiences for Scouts in a summer camp setting. You will facilitate engaging programs, mentor youth, and model the Scout Oath and Law while ensuring safety and fun.

Responsibilities include instructing Scouts in rank requirements, presenting to groups, assisting with setup and logistics, and submitting accurate advancement paperwork.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 18+.
• Comfortable speaking and presenting in front of youth and adults.
• Previous Scouting and/or camping experience strongly preferred.
• Experience working with youth ages 10-12 preferred.
• Willing to become a registered Scouting America member (includes background screening).
• Comfortable using Microsoft Teams for daily work-related communication.

Responsibilities

• Instruct, mentor, and engage Scouts (ages 11-17) in Scouting rank requirements.
• Present to groups of 10-40 Scouts to transfer knowledge and empower application of skills.
• Assist with setup, maintenance, and takedown of program and camping areas.
• Coordinate and collect program materials and resources.
• Turn in advancement paperwork to supervisor in a timely manner.
• Participate in camp-wide programs and activities (campfires, evening programs).
• Model the Scout Oath and Law in daily interactions.
• Maintain a clean, organized, safe work area.
• Perform additional duties assigned by SBR leadership.
• Abide by policies outlined in the SBR staff handbook.
