Dispatch Biotherapeutics, Inc. in Philadelphia, PA is seeking a Senior Scientist to lead upstream viral process development for cell and gene therapy products.

You will contribute to viral vector process development, bench-scale culture systems, and cross-functional collaboration with research, analytical development, and external CDMOs to advance the pipeline. The role requires strong GMP knowledge, scale-up experience, and exceptional problem-solving and communication skills in a dynamic team

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with extensive experience in viral vector upstream processing.
• Hands-on aseptic technique and bioreactor operation knowledge.
• GMP experience for clinical and commercial manufacturing.
• Ability to scale processes and troubleshoot complex systems.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with internal/external partners.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to upstream viral process development for T cell and viral vector products.
• Develop bench-scale suspension culture processes for viral vectors in shake flasks and bioreactors.
• Design experiments, transfer processes, and support characterization.
• Maintain lab notebooks, equipment, materials, and inventory.
• Draft batch records, SOPs, development reports, and regulatory sections.
• Represent the company at meetings with associations and regulatory bodies.
• Serve as subject matter expert for internal and external teams.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Chemical/Biochemical Engineering or Biotechnology

Master's degree

PhD with 5+ years experience
