Job summary

Dispatch Biotherapeutics, Inc. in Philadelphia, PA is seeking a Principal Scientist to lead downstream process development for viral vector products. You will guide tech transfers with CDMOs and build internal purification capabilities to support scale-up and scale-down efforts.

The role requires 10+ years in downstream purification, MS/PhD in related fields, and strong leadership, collaboration, and data-analysis skills in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial setting.

Qualifications

• MS or PhD in Chemical Engineering, Bioengineering or related discipline.
• Minimum of 10 years of downstream purification process development experience in biopharma.
• Experience directly managing a team.
• Experience with downstream unit operations including clarification, TFF, chromatography, sterile filtration and formulation.
• Understanding of cGMP and regulatory requirements for biopharmaceuticals.

Responsibilities

• Oversee tech transfers and scale-up of viral products manufactured at CDMOs.
• Serve as downstream SME on internal and external teams.
• Build internal downstream capabilities for process development scale-down models.
• Design experiments to identify critical process parameters and optimize setpoints across clarification, TFF, chromatography and sterile filtration.
