Job summary

Merck is seeking a Senior Specialist, Scientific Software Engineer to advance the Digital Insights portfolio. You will design, build, and scale software and data platforms that unify instrument and lab data, while partnering with IT and security to productionize solutions across the DSCS Digital Technologies team.

You’ll own data pipelines, APIs, and data products, and mentor teams through onboarding and deployment, enabling faster experiments and better decision-making in a GMP-enabled

Qualifications

• PhD in Computer Science, Data Science, or closely related field.
• MS with at least 2 years of industrial/pharmaceutical experience.
• BS with at least 4 years of industrial/pharmaceutical experience.

Responsibilities

• Build, scale, and sustain production-grade software and data systems.
• Design reusable platforms, APIs, and data pipelines.
• Collaborate with IT, security, and governance teams to productionize tools.
• Lead end-to-end software delivery including testing and CI/CD.
• Translate scientific needs into robust software and train users.
