Merck & Co., Inc. in Rahway, New Jersey, seeks a Senior Specialist, Scientific Software Engineer to join the Digital Insights team within DSCS Digital Technologies.

You will design, build, and scale production-grade software and data pipelines that unify instrument and laboratory data, delivering robust data products for decision-making. You will own end-to-end software delivery, collaborate with IT, security, and vendor teams, and mentor colleagues during onboarding and rollout.

Qualifikationen

• PhD or equivalent degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Software Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or closely related field.
• MS in CS/Data Science/Software Engineering with at least 2 years of industrial/pharmaceutical or relevant experience.
• BS in CS/Data Science/Software Engineering with at least 4 years of industrial/pharmaceutical or relevant experience.

Aufgaben

• Build scalable, production-grade software and APIs using Python or equivalent languages.
• Design reusable platforms, backend services, and data pipelines for analytics-ready data.
• Lead data engineering and data product development, including ETL/ELT processes and data models.
• Collaborate with IT, infrastructure, security, data governance, and vendor teams to deploy and sustain production solutions.
• Own end-to-end software delivery, including architecture, development, testing, deployment, and documentation.
