Qualifications

• Deep software development expertise with production-grade applications, backend services, and APIs using Python or similar languages.
• Experience scaling software from prototype to production and modernizing legacy tools.
• Collaboration with IT, infrastructure, security, and data governance teams in production environments.
• Strong data engineering: ETL/ELT pipelines, data models, data products, databases, data warehouses or data lakes.
• Experience with instrument software integration, APIs/SDKs, or file-based interfaces.
• Experience with Git, automated testing, code reviews, and CI/CD.
• Ability to translate complex scientific needs into robust software and communicate clearly.

Responsibilities

• Provide software and data engineering to build, scale, and sustain scientific and automation solutions.
• Design and build reusable platforms, backend services, and APIs for analytical data.
• Lead data engineering and data product development, operating pipelines and data models.
• Collaborate with IT, infrastructure, security, data governance, and vendors to productionize solutions.
• Own end-to-end software delivery including architecture, testing, deployment, and documentation.
• Mentor scientists and data scientists, leading onboarding and production rollout.
