Job summary

AbbVie in Worcester, MA is seeking a Senior Scientist to advance quantitative bioimaging capabilities in support of immunology discovery research. You will work within a cross-functional team with access to multiple microscopy modalities, complex in vitro models, and advanced computational infrastructure.

You will develop and apply quantitative imaging, computer-vision, and machine-learning approaches to characterize cellular and tissue phenotypes, support the development of biological models

Qualifications

• Experience developing quantitative image-analysis or computational solutions for imaging data.
• Experience with at least one imaging modality such as confocal or high-content imaging.
• Ability to assess image quality and interpret biologically meaningful phenotypes.
• Working knowledge of ML/DL approaches for biological imaging and model evaluation.
• Proficiency with Python data-science stack (NumPy, pandas, scikit-learn).

Responsibilities

• Develop, optimize, and apply imaging assays and quantitative image-analysis workflows for 2D and 3D models.
• Collaborate with wet-lab and computational teams from design to data delivery.
• Extract multiparametric features from high-content imaging datasets to characterize phenotypes.
• Apply ML/DL methods to identify imaging biomarkers and relate phenotypes to readouts.
• Integrate image data with multimodal datasets where appropriate.
• Establish QC and evaluation frameworks for image data and assays.
• Maintain clear experimental and analytical records and present results clearly.
• Communicate methods and results to cross-functional teams.
• Stay current with advances in quantitative bioimaging and AI/ML for imaging.
