Job summary

ATCC is seeking a Senior Scientist to support federal programs in an onsite role in Manassas, VA. The role initiates, executes, and directs scientific research across cross-functional teams, contributing to new product development, services, and informatics projects while mentoring colleagues.

Ideal candidates have NAMs/MPS/organoid/organs-on-chip experience, and a background in infectious disease research. Strong data analysis, publications, and leadership capabilities are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum: PhD with 5+ years of research leadership.
• Experience with NAMs, MPS, organoids, or organ-on-chip platforms.
• Ability to solve complex problems with independent judgment.
• Experience directing R&D activities and experiments.
• Strong data interpretation and scientific communication skills.
• Mentor staff and support grants or contracts.

Responsibilities

• Design and conduct experimental research and investigations.
• Lead lab activities, choose methods, and troubleshoot issues.
• Record, review, and interpret complex study data.
• Develop protocols, reports, and manuscripts for dissemination.
• Translate validated protocols into SOPs and support tech transfer.
• Provide scientific expertise and mentor researchers on projects.
