Job summary

ATCC, a global nonprofit providing trusted biological materials, seeks a Senior Scientist to support federal programs. This onsite role in Manassas, VA, leads experimental research, mentors staff, and directs projects across a cross-functional team in life sciences and infectious disease contexts.

The position emphasizes microphysiological systems, organoids, and advanced cellular models, scientific documentation, data interpretation, and technology transfer to other business units.

Qualifications

• PhD in a scientific field or engineering with 5+ years of experience.
• Experience with microphysiological systems, organoids, or organ-on-chip platforms.
• Ability to design and direct experimental R&D activities.
• Strong documentation and communication skills.
• Experience mentoring staff and leading projects.

Responsibilities

• Design and conduct experimental research to support discovery and development.
• Lead laboratory activities, troubleshoot issues, and set methods for new tasks.
• Record, analyze, and interpret complex data and communicate findings.
• Develop and review protocols, reports, and publications; support patent activities.
• Translate validated procedures into SOPs and enable technology transfer.
