Job summary

ATCC Biotechnology in Manassas, VA, is seeking a Senior Scientist to support federal programs. This onsite role leads scientific research, mentors colleagues, and directs development across products and informatics projects.

A strong background in advanced cellular models and infectious disease research is preferred. The candidate will work cross-functionally to advance research initiatives, manage mentorship, and contribute to strategic scientific programs within a nonprofit setting that serves

Qualifications

PhD in scientific discipline or engineering with 5+ years of experience or equivalent.
Experience with microphysiological systems (MPS), organoids, organ-on-chip technologies or related advanced cellular models.
Strong ability to analyze complex data and troubleshoot research challenges.
Proven track record in experimental research and development activities.
Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to prepare scientific documentation and manuscripts.

Responsibilities

Design and conduct experimental research to support scientific discovery and development.
Lead and oversee laboratory research activities; determine methods and procedures for new assignments.
Analyze, interpret, and present complex study data for research objectives.
Develop protocols, reports, presentations, and publications; contribute to patent-related activities.
Translate validated protocols into SOPs and support technology transfer across units.
Mentor and train staff while ensuring scientific integrity and quality.
