Job summary

This position is based in Irvine and requires commuting distance to the office. You will design and execute experiments, verify designs, and mentor colleagues while collaborating with Manufacturing, Regulatory Affairs, and Marketing to advance the organization’s QC capabilities.

Qualifications

• Preferred: PhD in Biology, Biochemistry, Microbiology or closely related discipline.
• Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in life science or related technical discipline.
• Eight (8) years’ industry experience in an FDA-regulated environment, preferably IVDs.

Responsibilities

• Advance new and existing infectious disease and core QC products.
• Ensure integrity of state-of-the-art QC products by designing and executing effective experiments, championing design verification and validation plans, reviewing design input requirements, and ensuring development goals are met within budget.
• Influence critical design decisions with design verification data and coordinate development of test tools to simulate errors and acquire objective outputs.
• Plan and execute studies, perform laboratory testing and experiments, apply critical thinking and investigative reasoning, and develop products that support the organization’s growth objectives.
• Mentor colleagues and communicate progress to leadership.
