Qualifications

The Neuroscience TRC is committed to developing transformational therapeutics for patients with neurodegenerative, neuromuscular, and neuropsychiatric diseases. A network of internal and external partnerships across these areas supports our ambition to lead in neuroscience. Our focus includes causal human biology, matching therapeutic modalities to molecular mechanisms, and enabling rapid clinical proof-of-concept.

Key areas of interest include disease-modifying and symptomatic therapies, protein clearance modulation, emerging technologies like RNA and DNA targeting, AI/ML in drug discovery, neuroimaging, fluid biomarkers, and novel delivery technologies across the blood-brain barrier.

Position Summary:

The Neuroscience TRC leverages collaborations and internal research to target unmet needs in neurodegenerative, neuropsychiatric, neuroinflammatory, and neuromuscular diseases. The Senior Scientist, Neuroscience Discovery, collaborates on in vivo and in vitro studies to advance drug candidates from target identification to clinical proof-of-concept. This role is based in Cambridge, MA, supporting our collaborative drug discovery efforts.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Design and execute studies evaluating novel BBB delivery technologies and therapeutic approaches for relevant diseases.
  • Maintain transgenic and other animal models for drug candidate evaluation.
  • Participate as a project team member in programs employing innovative delivery technologies for neurodegenerative and neuromuscular disorders.
Experience & Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree with 7+ years of experience, or
  • Master's Degree with 5+ years of experience, or
  • Ph.D. or equivalent in Life Sciences with 2+ years of experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • PhD with 4+ years in drug discovery, especially in delivery technologies and CNS targeting.
  • Hands-on experience in in vivo pharmacology, animal handling, and transgenic models.
  • Experience in interdisciplinary drug discovery teams and external collaborations.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently and in teams.
