Job summary

L’Oréal Research & Innovation in Clark, New Jersey is seeking a Senior Scientist II to lead professional skin formulation projects. You will own the technical strategy, select materials, and drive DoE-based development for high-performance skincare solutions.

You will mentor peers, partner with cross-functional teams, and contribute to the domain roadmap while ensuring robust technical transfer and regulatory compliance. This role requires onsite presence and US work authorization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Biochemistry, Biological Engineering, Pharmaceutical Science, Surface and Interface Science, Physical Chemistry, Chemistry, or Chemical Engineering.
• 2+ years (PhD) or 5-9+ years (Master's/Bachelor's) in skin formulation development with leadership.
• Strong knowledge of skin biology and active ingredients; experience with active stability and delivery systems.
• Experience leading multiple projects and mentoring junior scientists.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of professional skin formulations across multiple projects with strategic direction.
• Apply advanced cosmetic technology to ensure stability of high-potency actives and optimized delivery.
• Leverage skin biology and ingredient chemistry to design experimental plans for professional skin management.
• Mentor junior scientists and collaborate with cross-functional teams to transfer technology.
