Job summary

Englewood Lab in Paterson, NJ is seeking a Sr. Chemist - Skincare/Color to lead development of innovative skincare formulations from concept to scale-up and ensure OTC and color regulatory compliance.

You will mentor junior chemists, collaborate with cross-functional teams and customers, and contribute to production-ready, market-ready products while evaluating new materials and technologies.

Qualifications

• BS in Chemistry or related field required.
• 8+ years in developing R&D skin care formulations.
• Experience in OTC product development strongly preferred.
• SPF and color formulation experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of formulations and scale-up.
• Familiarity with production equipment and their uses.
• Good understanding of skincare raw materials.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 10-15 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Formulate and facilitate development of innovative skin care products, line extensions, and product improvements.
• Supervise, mentor, teach, and lead junior chemists in skincare cosmetics formulation.
• Proactively scan and research new concepts, materials, technical opportunities and partnerships.
• Work in the production environment whenever necessary.
• Work with project managers/customers to develop product forms and shade palettes.
• Understand and comply with color regulations.
• Develop stability protocols for skincare products and monitor stability.
• Advise on lab equipment needs.
• Perform other duties as assigned by manager.
