Job summary

ModeX Therapeutics is seeking a Senior Scientist with extensive Immuno-oncology experience to design and execute cell-based studies using primary immune cells and relevant assays. You will characterize biologic drug candidates, evaluate mechanisms, and address key biological questions in a fast-paced biotech setting.

You will lead in vitro/in vivo‑relevant assay development, optimize flow cytometry panels, analyze complex data, and collaborate across discovery, translational, and project teams

Qualifications

• Ph.D. or MS in Immunology, Cancer Biology, Cell biology, Immuno-oncology, or a related field with 10+ years of research experience including 4+ years in biotech/pharma R&D.
• Strong hands-on expertise in Immunotherapy and Immunology with ability to apply new concepts and immunoassays.
• Experience designing, executing, and interpreting functional assays using primary immune cells and multi-parameter flow cytometry.

Responsibilities

• Independently design, execute, analyze, and interpret in vitro/ex vivo studies to characterize drug candidates and their mechanisms of action.
• Develop complex immune cell-based functional assays using primary immune cells, tumor cell lines, reporters, and co-culture models.
• Design, optimize, and troubleshoot multicolor flow cytometry panels and data analysis.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with discovery, translational and project teams to ensure data-driven decision making.
• Contribute to scientific reports and presentations and communicate findings to cross-functional teams.
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with laboratory standards and data integrity practices.

ModeX Therapeutics is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Scientist with strong hands‑on experience in Immuno‑oncology/Immunology to support the development and progression of novel immune therapies. The successful candidate will design, execute, and interpret cell‑based studies using primary immune cells and relevant assay systems to evaluate biologic drug candidates, characterize their mechanism of action, and address biological questions. Key Responsibilities

• Play a key role in the development of new biologic drugs for Immunotherapy and Immunology
• Independently design, execute, analyze, and interpret in vitro/ex vivo studies to characterize drug candidates and their mechanisms of action
• Develop and perform complex immune cell‑based functional assays using primary immune cells (human and mouse), tumor cell lines, reporter systems, and co‑culture models
• Design, optimize and troubleshoot multicolor flow cytometry panels, including compensation/unmixing, antibody titration and gating strategies
• Analyze experimental data, generate clear conclusions, and provide data‑driven recommendations to advance research programs
• Collaborate cross‑functionally with discovery, translational and project teams to ensure data‑driven decision‑making and timely progression of programs.
• Contribute to scientific reports, presentations, and project updates, and effectively communicate findings to cross‑functional teams
• Maintain accurate documentation of experimental activities and ensure compliance with applicable laboratory standards and data integrity practices.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. or M.S. Degree in Immunology, Cancer Biology, Cell biology, Immuno‑oncology, or a related scientific field, with 10+ years of relevant research experience, including at least 4+ years in a biotech or pharmaceutical R&D environment
• Strong, hands‑on expertise in Immunotherapy and Immunology, with the ability to independently evaluate and apply new concepts and immunoassays
• Demonstrated experience designing, executing, and interpreting functional assays using primary immune cells, including multi‑parameter flow cytometry, cytokine profiling (ELISA, MSD, Luminex, or equivalent), immune activation, proliferation, and cytotoxicity assays.
• Hands‑on experience with flow cytometry panel design, optimization, and data analysis; spectral flow cytometry experience is desirable
• Proven ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and drive projects forward in a fast‑paced biotech environment
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present complex data clearly to scientific and cross‑functional audiences
• Strong troubleshooting, organization, data analysis, and problem‑solving skills
• Highly collaborative mindset with the ability to contribute ideas, work across teams, and mentor junior team members as needed
