Job summary

Sanofi in Waltham, MA is seeking a Senior Scientist to advance genomic medicine bioanalytics characterization for gene therapy candidates. You will lead LC-MS-based protein characterization, monitor impurities, and collaborate across process development, CMC, and regulatory teams. Candidates should have a Ph.D.

in Biochemistry or chemistry-related field (or MS with 4+ years industry). Expertise with Thermo/AB Sciex LC-MS systems and proteomics software is preferred.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Biochemistry or Chemistry-life science field or MS with 4+ years of industry experience.
• Extensive LC-MS experience in protein characterization, identification and quantitation.
• Strong proficiency with Thermo and/or AB Sciex instruments and key proteomics software.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement advanced characterization strategies for gene therapy candidates (viral vectors and nonviral particles).
• Utilize LC-MS to profile HCP clearance and monitor impurities of concern for CMC development.
• Establish method detection limits and transfer to automated sample prep.
• Profile differential protein expression in cell lysates to support Cell Culture Process Development.
• Develop LC-MS methods for nonviral particles including RNA impurity determination and oligonucleotide mapping.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to support process/formulation development via LC-MS characterization.
