Job summary

Amgen is seeking a Senior Scientist in Functional Genomics to advance genome engineering technologies for target discovery across therapeutic areas. You will establish capabilities for target identification, validation, and mechanistic studies in a highly collaborative setting.

Qualifications

PhD in Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Genetics or related discipline; 12+ years postdoc/industry experience preferred.
Strong background in molecular biology, genome engineering, CRISPR technologies, and functional genomics.
Experience designing, engineering, producing, and characterizing AAV and/or lentiviral vectors.
Experience applying viral vector technologies to in vitro and in vivo CRISPR perturbation studies.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement next-generation viral vector platform and genome engineering technologies to expand functional genomics capabilities.
Design, engineer, produce, optimize, and characterize AAV and lentiviral vectors for genetic perturbation in vitro and in vivo.
Design and execute molecular biology and functional genomics experiments supporting target discovery and validation.
Communicate findings and biological insights to multidisciplinary discovery teams.
