Job summary

Amgen is seeking a Senior Scientist in Functional Genomics to advance viral vector platforms and genome engineering for therapeutic target discovery. You will work within the TD&B group to design, engineer, and characterize AAV and lentiviral vectors, enabling in vitro and in vivo CRISPR perturbation studies.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to translate innovative technologies into biologically meaningful discoveries that drive the next generation of therapeutics.

Qualifications

  • Doctorate degree in a relevant field or equivalent postdoctoral/industrial experience.
  • Master's degree with 3 years of scientific experience or a Bachelor's with 5 years experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise in genome engineering, viral vectors, and functional genomics.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement next-generation viral vector platform and genome engineering technologies.
  • Design, engineer, produce, optimize, and characterize AAV and lentiviral vectors for genetic perturbation applications in vitro and in vivo.
  • Design and execute molecular biology and functional genomics experiments to support target discovery and validation.
  • Interpret experimental data and communicate findings to multidisciplinary discovery teams.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies to enhance discovery capabilities in genome and viral vector engineering.
  • Collaborate with biology, computational biology, chemistry, and therapeutic teams to solve complex problems.
