Job summary

Amgen seeks a Senior Scientist in Functional Genomics to advance genome engineering technologies that accelerate target discovery across therapeutic areas. You will develop AAV and lentiviral vector platforms, enable in vitro and in vivo perturbations, and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to translate advances into therapeutics.

Qualifications

• PhD in Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Genetics, Bioengineering, Virology, or related field with substantial postdocs/industry experience.
• Strong background in molecular biology, genome engineering and functional genomics.
• Experience designing, engineering, producing and validating viral vectors (AAV/Lentivirus) for perturbation studies.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement next‑gen viral vector platform to expand functional genomics capabilities.
• Design, engineer, produce, optimize, and characterize AAV and lentiviral vectors for genetic perturbation.
• Design and execute molecular biology and functional genomics experiments for target discovery.
• Design, analyze, and interpret experimental studies and communicate findings to discovery teams.
• Evaluate and adopt emerging genome engineering technologies to enhance discovery.
• Collaborate with biology, computational biology, chemistry, and therapeutic teams to solve problems.
