Job summary

Corning Research & Development Corporate’s Organic Materials Directorate specializes in addressing technical challenges in organic materials using Advanced Flow Reactor (AFR) technology for design, synthesis, and extraction of high-value materials.

The role supports Corning’s Critical Materials efforts, including pharmaceutical intermediates and minerals, with responsibilities spanning synthetic route design, process development, IP support, and project leadership.

Qualifications

• PhD degree in Polymer, Organic Chemistry, or related discipline.
• Familiarity with analytical techniques such as NMR, GC-MS, UPLC, and FTIR.

Responsibilities

• Design novel molecules and reaction pathways for efficient synthesis of target materials.
• Develop, optimize, and scale chemical processes from lab to pilot or production scale.
• Drive innovation in mineral extraction and material synthesis.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver integrated solutions.
• Ensure safe and compliant laboratory operations and data documentation.
