Job summary

Bristol Myers Squibb invites an accomplished Principal Scientist to lead discovery programs for engineered CAR T and eTCR T cell therapies. You will guide strategy, mentor scientists, and collaborate across wet lab, computational, and clinical teams to advance preclinical programs.

The role emphasizes translation of in vitro data to in vivo xenograft models, IND-enabling studies, and publication efforts, with a strong emphasis on leadership and scientific direction.

Qualifications

• PhD with 4+ years postdoc/industry experience in life sciences.
• Experience leading independent research programs across wet lab, computational, and clinical teams.
• Extensive in vitro T cell assays and gene delivery knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Provides scientific leadership and sets strategic direction for research programs focused on engineered CAR T and eTCR T cell therapies.
• Leads in vitro functional screening for T cell cytotoxicity and effector function to optimize therapies.
• Designs and optimizes genetic constructs, including logic-gated circuits, and gene delivery approaches to improve potency, persistence, and safety.
• Serves as a subject matter expert and mentor, guiding junior scientists and cross-team collaboration.
• Supports translation of in vitro data to in vivo xenograft studies to evaluate efficacy and inform go/no-go decisions.
• Leads multidisciplinary collaborations across wet lab, computational, and clinical functions across sites.
• Drives go/no-go decisions and presents data to senior leadership and stakeholders.
• Contributes to IND-enabling studies, patents, and publications with thorough documentation.
