Job summary

AtlasBase in South San Francisco seeks a Sr. Scientist to advance a massively parallel, semiconductor-based DNA synthesis platform.

You will lead development and optimization of CMOS chip-based phosphoramidite DNA synthesis, and drive electrochemical synthesis workflows with hardware and software integration. The role requires an advanced degree with hands-on experience in phosphoramidite chemistry, DNA chip technologies, and NGS data analysis.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
• 2+ years biotech/pharma R&D for PhD holders or 5+ years for MS holders.
• Proven phosphoramidite oligonucleotide synthesis and platform development.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize CMOS chip-based phosphoramidite DNA synthesis workflows.
• Optimize electrochemical DNA synthesis protocols, including hardware integration.
• Perform failure-mode analysis across hardware, fluidics, surface chemistry, and electrochemistry.
• Collaborate with engineering and synthesis teams on testbeds and integrations.
• Operate NGS-based pipelines for quality assessment of oligonucleotide pools.
• Document methods, results, and next steps; contribute to tech transfer to manufacturing.
