Job summary

AtlasBase is seeking a Research Associate to join our Systems Integration team in South San Francisco. You will help develop our proprietary enzymatic DNA synthesis on semiconductor chips, while supporting reagent development, QC, and downstream NGS library prep and analysis.

You will work closely with scientists and engineers to plan and execute experiments, adhere to SOPs, and document results for reporting. A strong work ethic and willingness to learn are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, or a closely related field required; Master’s preferred.
• Experience with biochemistry and molecular biology protocols in a lab setting.
• Experience with automated liquid handling is a plus.
• Familiarity with NGS, qPCR, or DNA hybridization methods is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support R&D of a high-throughput DNA synthesis platform for DNA data storage.
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot custom DNA synthesizers.
• Prepare and QC reagents and buffers for enzymatic DNA synthesis.
• Operate tools for assessing oligo quality (HPLC, LCMS, capillary electrophoresis).
• Perform NGS library prep on sample DNA oligo pools.
• Optimize biochemical or enzyme activity assays.
• Document data and prepare presentations/reports; adhere to SOPs and data integrity.
