Job summary

CRISPR Therapeutics, Inc. is seeking a Scientist II to advance our CRISPR-X programs. The role focuses on leading gene editing strategies, CAR T cell engineering, and translational assay development for diverse human disease indications.

The successful candidate will join a collaborative team in a fully on-site lab environment in Boston, leveraging deep expertise in molecular biology, immunology, and genome editing to push a broad clinical pipeline forward.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in biology, bioengineering, immunology, or related discipline with 2–5+ years of professional experience.
• Hands-on CAR T cell engineering and gene editing with primary human T cells; transgene delivery and functional characterization.
• Experience applying next-generation gene editing technologies (recombinases, retrotransposons, or similar).
• Excellent writing, reviewing, and presentation skills; ability to work independently and in teams.
• Entrepreneurial, resourceful, and able to pivot as needed in a fast-paced biotech setting.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and optimization of next-gen gene editing strategies using CRISPR and related tools.
• Perform molecular biology experiments including cloning, qPCR/ddPCR, NGS, RNA/DNA analysis, and cell culture.
• Guide construct design, target selection, and interpretation of CAR T and immune studies in vivo/outcomes.
• Review literature to identify novel solutions to gene editing and immunology challenges.
• Translate biology into translational assays to evaluate gene editing across in vitro and in vivo systems.
