Qualifications

• Meet one of the listed professional qualifications to work in high complexity labs (microbiology with virology).
• ASCP/AMT or equivalent board certification recognized for MT/MLS credentials.
• Licensed or commissioned status as applicable to the state and organization.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the Clinical Laboratory Senior Scientist for high‑complexity labs analyzing microbiology samples including virology.
• Provide full‑time on‑site support and oversight for laboratory operations.
• Select test methodologies appropriate for clinical use of results.
• Establish and maintain a quality control program and analytic performance standards.
• Identify training needs and ensure regular in‑service training for staff.
• Provide performance feedback to Government on staff testing performance.
• Compile and present data from analyses to support guidance and leadership needs.
• Mentor staff and ensure competency in testing procedures and reporting.
