Job summary

Glyphic Biotechnologies in Berkeley, CA seeks a Staff/Senior Scientist for Assay Research to design and implement novel assay workflows, define component requirements, and develop proxy assays predicting multi-cycle performance. You will work at the interface of molecular biology, chemistry, bioinformatics, and automation.

Qualifications

• Post-graduate degree in molecular biology, biochemistry, chemistry or related field (BS/MS/PhD) with 6+ years (Staff) / 4+ years (Senior).
• Experience establishing novel assay workflows for highly sensitive molecular assays.
• Ability to translate assay results into component specifications and design requirements.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute experiments to improve ProSE sequencing assays.
• Develop and test novel workflows and components (beads, surface chemistries, sample prep).
• Create proxy assays to isolate variables and predict performance.
• Collaborate across Chemistry, Assay Integration, Automation and Bioinformatics teams.
• Maintain electronic lab notebook and communicate results promptly.
