Job summary

Glyphic Biotechnologies is seeking an Assay Research Scientist to design and execute experiments advancing the ProSE protein sequencing platform. This full-time, in-person role is based at the Berkeley, CA site and offers the chance to contribute to end-to-end assay development and optimization.

You will work at the interface of molecular biology, chemistry, and automation, developing predictive, mechanistically grounded assays and translating findings into component specifications.

Qualifications

• Post-graduate experience in molecular biology, biochemistry, chemistry or related fields.
• BS/MS/PhD with 10+/8+/6+ years (Staff Scientist)
• BS/MS/PhD with 8+/6+/4+ years (Senior Scientist)
• Track record of establishing novel assay workflows for highly sensitive molecular assays.
• Demonstrated ability to translate assay results into component specifications.
• Strong knowledge of multimodal characterization techniques.

Responsibilities

• Design, plan, and execute experiments to improve ProSE process performance.
• Establish novel assay workflows and define requirements for new components.
• Develop proxy assays to isolate variables and predict multi-cycle performance.
• Correlate assay findings with physical characteristics of the system.
• Collaborate across Chemistry, Assay Integration, Automation and Bioinformatics teams.
