Job summary

Dispatch Biotherapeutics, Inc. is seeking a Senior Scientist to support Analytical Operations for our portfolio of product candidates, including viral vectors and CAR T cells. You will build and manage an efficient operational network, coordinate external testing with CDMOs, and ensure high-quality data generation and method transfer activities.

The role requires a Ph.D. with 5+ years or equivalent industry experience, strong GMP/GLP familiarity, and excellent collaboration across internal teams

Qualifications

• Ph.D. with at least 5 years of related experience in an industry setting
• Master’s Degree with at least 8 years of related experience in an industry setting
• Bachelor’s Degree with at least 10 years of related experience in an industry setting
• CMC analytical experience within cell and gene therapy and/or large molecule antibody therapy
• Experience with method development, validation, and method transfers in accordance with ICH guidelines
• Lab-based experience developing methods and performing routine testing on cell-based, Flow Cytometry, qPCR, ddPCR, etc.
• Experience scheduling testing for a team (lab-based scheduling of analysts, manufacturing-based scheduling of operators)
• Experience as a lab manager: ordering supplies and organizing reagents
• Experience using electronic lab notebook (ELN) systems (Symyx, Benchling, etc.)
• Experience with data analysis software such as GraphPad Prism, JMP, and Microsoft Excel
• Experience shipping samples domestically and internationally
• Highly organized and proactive in setting up systems for data capture and tracking
• Experience working in a cross-functional matrix team
• Strong attention to detail and accurate documentation of data
• Experience collaborating with external partners (CDMOs and CTLs) and internal cross-functional teams
• Effective oral and written communication skills
• Familiarity with GMP/GLP laboratory practices or a regulated environment
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based laboratory environment
• Desire to learn, gain and grow new skills in a fast-paced setting
• Technical understanding of analytical control strategy and regulatory documentation experience
• Experience leading or coordinating matrix teams
• Experience with project management tools (Smartsheet, MS Project)
• Familiarity with data trending and contract negotiations (MSAs, CDAs)
• Familiarity with operating budgets and cost tracking

Responsibilities

• Coordinate execution for external quality control testing including sample shipments between locations
• Serve as single point of contact between PD and APS teams for studies and testing needs
• Manage internal routine testing processes including scheduling, verification, and reporting
• Create/manage data tracking systems for QC/CTL sites and internal data
• Develop/manage inventory systems for instrumentation, reagents, and materials
• Assist with method validation and transfer activities with internal and external partners
• Assist with organization and coordination of MSAs/contracts
• Support budgeting activities as needed
• Communicate operations status updates clearly to leadership and teams
• Maintain training and competency on internal analytical methods and provide lab-testing support
• Participate in seminars, journal clubs, and continual professional development
