Job summary

Kairos Power is seeking a Senior Scientific Software and Developer Platform Engineer to join a small software and infrastructure team supporting design, research, and development. This is a hands-on role to architect and build the scientific software, developer tooling, and delivery systems used by nuclear engineers and computational scientists.

You will work across Python and C++, CI/CD, containerization, HPC workflows, and software quality, shaping standards and mentoring others to create

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, physics, mathematics, computational science, or a related technical field is required or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of relevant software engineering experience in scientific/engineering software.
• Strong experience in Python and C++ and in automated testing.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, test, and maintain scientific and engineering software in Python and C++.
• Own software architecture for internal engineering tools.
• Profile and optimize performance and document results.
• Build CI/CD and reproducible build and packaging pipelines.
• Mentor engineers and participate in design/code reviews.
