Job summary

Kairos Power is seeking a Senior Scientific Software and Developer Platform Engineer to build the tools engineers use to design and analyze nuclear power systems. You will lead Python/C++ development, CI/CD, and containerized workflows in a remote-friendly Alameda, CA setting.

The role emphasizes architecture, reproducible delivery, and collaboration with non-software engineers to deliver practical engineering software. Strong HPC and testing experience is required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience in scientific/engineering domains.
• Strong experience with Python and C++ in production-grade software.
• Experience with automated testing and CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain software architecture for scientific tools used by engineers.
• Own CI/CD pipelines and artifact delivery for Python and C++ components.
• Develop and optimize HPC workflows and user-facing platforms (Slurm/Open OnDemand).
• Mentor teammates and promote maintainable, well-documented code.
