Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in a construction-related field.
• Seven years of experience in the field within the last ten years.
• Experience managing the construction of medium to large projects.

Responsibilities

• Plans and directs the construction functional area, with a peer Manager of Construction.
• Ensures all projects comply with district policies and objectives.
• Coordinates District construction activities with other departments and personnel.
• Develops standards and guidelines, and resolves issues across project lifecycles.
• Reviews bid specifications, submittals, change orders, schedules and documents.
• Provides expertise in the Facilities Department's functional area.
• Evaluates actions by vendors and District personnel for compliance.
• Participates in conflict resolution and site travel as needed.
• Reviews and approves vendor pay requests.
• Reviews and provides recommendations on formal solicitations.
• Ensures compliance with equal employment policies.
