Job summary

Metra Commuter Rail in Chicago is seeking a Senior Scheduler to lead the development, update, and management of the Capital Delivery Master Program Schedule and related scheduling processes. You will ensure templates align with project scope and provide training across the Capital Delivery Team.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management, at least seven years of schedule creation and management experience, and strong knowledge of Primavera P6 and MS

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Minimum seven years of schedule creation and management experience, preferably in an infrastructure related field.
• Knowledge of schedule management software including Oracle Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
• Knowledge of Critical Path Methodology scheduling.
• Knowledge of schedule cost-loading and Earned Value Management.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to train multi-disciplinary staff and work with project managers and contractors.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel within and outside Metra’s 6-county region.
• Must be available to work flexible hours including early mornings, late afternoons, evenings, or weekends.

Responsibilities

• Develop, update, and manage the Capital Delivery Master Program Schedule.
• Develop and maintain schedule management processes and procedures.
• Provide schedule management training to the Capital Delivery Team.
• Ensure templates follow project scope and WBS guidelines; verify data integrity.
• Promote safe work practices within the project controls environment.
• Collaborate with project managers, discipline SMEs, and contractor schedules to align schedules.
