Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Minimum seven years experience preparing cost estimates, preferably in infrastructure.
• Knowledge of estimating and cost management best practices.
• Knowledge of cost baseline creation and management.
• Knowledge of PMIS best practices.
• Knowledge of Earned Value Management.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and written communication skills.
• Advanced level math skills.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within Metra’s 6-county region.
• Willingness to work flexible hours including early morning, late afternoon, evenings or weekends.

Responsibilities

• Manage cost and estimating policies and budgets for all projects.
• Monitor milestone schedules and update estimates in the system.
• Develop and approve project cost estimates for charters.
• Oversee PMIS usage for costing and estimating; train system users.
• Assist Director in cost breakdown structure and schedule of values.
• Track budgets, commitments and expenditures; flag cost issues.
• Promote safe work practices and a safe work environment.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
