Job summary

City of Fresno seeks a Senior Water Systems Telemetry and Distributed Control Specialist to enhance and maintain control systems for critical utilities. You’ll lead SCADA programming, dashboards, and data management while solving complex automation challenges across facilities and sewers stations.

You will collaborate with multiple divisions, document changes, and support startup of automated controls. A strong background in PLC/SCADA and water systems is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in CS, engineering, water science, or related field.
• Two years of LAN administration, SCADA/Telemetry system management, or process control instrumentation experience.
• Two years of increasingly responsible experience as a Water Systems Telemetry and Distributed Control Specialist.

Responsibilities

• Oversee programming, databases, and telemetry for control systems.
• Develop, troubleshoots, maintains, documents and modifies SCADA applications.
• Remote troubleshooting and modification of PLC/RTU code and HMI/SCADA graphics.
• Coordinate with divisions and work groups to ensure project completion.
• Aids in development of SOPs based on PLC/HMI code.
• Assist in startup and implementation of automated control systems.
• Maintain work order records in CMMS with technical updates.
• Participate in design/construction teams for SCADA, telemetry and PLC controls.
• Review contractor submittals and shop drawings.
• Perform related duties as required.
