Job summary

CoVolt Power is seeking a Senior Engineer - SCADA at our Albany, NY office to lead design and programming of substation SCADA and automation systems. You will supervise engineers and drafters, coordinate with clients and vendors, and ensure quality across projects.

The role covers LV to EHV power systems, system testing on-site, and mentoring junior staff while aligning with NEC/IEEE standards and company practices. Strong leadership and communications are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Power Engineering.
• Experience with transmission-level substations (34.5–500 kV).
• Familiar with NEC, NFPA, NESC, OSHA, NERC and IEEE standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead SCADA and automation design for substation projects.
• Coordinate multi-discipline teams and vendor interfaces.
• Create and review data system designs (I/O diagrams, BOMs).
• Write configurations for SEL RTAC, relays, PLCs and RTUs.
• On-site testing and check-out of programming and cabling.
• Mentor junior engineers and review drawings.
• Ensure engineering documents are properly maintained.
