Job summary

DESRI Project Management Services, L.L.C. in Houston, Texas, United States seeks a Manager, SCADA Engineering to lead SCADA design reviews, integration, and implementation across utility-scale solar, battery energy storage (BESS), and hybrid projects.

You will collaborate with Engineering, Development, Construction, Operations, Asset Management, IT, and EPC partners to ensure reliable, secure, and scalable SCADA systems supporting safe, efficient operations.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field is required.
• A master’s degree in engineering, controls, or renewable energy systems is a plus.
• At least five years of relevant experience in SCADA/controls/power systems integration.
• Experience with utility-scale battery energy storage systems (EMS/BMS/PCS) is strongly preferred.
• Ability to develop/manage points lists, alarm configurations, and data mapping between systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead or support the execution of SCADA and controls integration for utility-scale battery storage projects, ensuring robust system performance and operational readiness.
• Conduct detailed SCADA design reviews, define technical specifications, and support EPC scoping and vendor selection for controls and monitoring systems.
• Develop integration strategies to connect battery systems with EMS, plant controllers, and DESRI’s central monitoring platform.
• Create and maintain points lists, alarm and data mapping documentation, and tag naming conventions for BESS and related infrastructure.
• Oversee or assist with alarming configuration, data historian setup, and control logic verification, aligned with operations and industry best practices.
• Collaborate with EPCs and integrators during design, FAT, and site commissioning to verify interfaces and system performance.
• Troubleshoot SCADA integration issues, validate telemetry data, and support cybersecurity considerations and continuous improvement.
