Job summary

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Inc. is seeking a Senior Automation Engineer (SCADA). You will design, develop, and support SCADA and HMI solutions for electric power and critical infrastructure, integrating RTUs, PLCs, IEDs and diverse field devices.

You will implement secure, reliable operator interfaces and contribute to FAT, SAT, and commissioning activities. You will apply expertise in automation, communications, and control systems, leveraging DNP3, Modbus, IEC 61850, OPC UA, and

Qualifications

• Typically 10+ years of experience with SCADA and OT in utilities or critical infrastructure.
• Experience configuring and troubleshooting RTUs, PLCs, IEDs, and industrial communications.
• Knowledge of DNP3, Modbus, IEC 61850, IEC 60870, OPC UA, ICCP/TASE.2

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, configure, and support SCADA systems for electric utility and critical infrastructure applications.
• Develop HMI applications for operator interaction with monitored systems.
• Integrate RTUs/PLCs/IEDs into SCADA environments and configure networks and interfaces.
• Support FAT, SAT, and commissioning activities and troubleshoot issues.
• Promote cybersecurity practices and OT standards across deployments.
