Job summary

Newtek Bank, N.A. seeks a Loan Workout Specialist to manage distressed SBA 7(a), CRE, and C&I loan relationships. This role evaluates borrower financial condition, develops workout strategies, and maximizes recoveries while minimizing losses.

You will ensure SBA SOP compliance and coordinate with Credit Administration, Risk Management, and Legal to protect collateral value and guaranty. The ideal candidate has advanced financial analysis skills, strong credit judgment, and experience with loan

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of commercial lending, credit analysis, loan servicing, and workout practices.
• Experience with SBA 7(a) SOP and guaranty preservation.
• Ability to manage distressed SBA/CRE/C&I loan relationships.
• Solid CECL impairment and reserve understanding.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of distressed SBA 7(a), CRE, and C&I loans.
• Develop workout strategies to improve performance and reduce losses.
• Negotiate and administer loan modifications and forbearance.
• Prepare impairment analyses and reserve recommendations.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure compliance.
