MAXAR TECHNOLOGIES, INC. in Westminster, CO is seeking a Principal Satellite Systems Engineer to lead the SpaceWRX team's space projects from customer needs to design, develop, and deliver Earth observation systems.

The role requires a proven engineering leader, U.S. Citizenship, and extensive end-to-end aerospace program experience, including satellite bus design, RF systems, and system requirements verification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, aerospace, physics or a related field.
• 6–12 years in aerospace systems engineering.
• End-to-end program engineering from architecture through assembly, integration and test to on-orbit operations.
• Experience designing and qualifying hardware and software for LEO space environments.
• Experience owning the design, analysis and test of a satellite bus or whole satellite system.
• Experience writing, decomposing and verifying requirements on a satellite program.
• Subcontractor oversight experience: environmental tests, test reports, etc.
• Strong understanding of LEO space environments and their effects on system performance.

Responsibilities

• Lead vendor interactions for satellite bus procurement and review designs.
• Write and oversee execution of statements of work and bus requirements.
• Review ICDs, payload integration and test plans; assess test reports.
• Review vendor processes and test results to verify mission requirements.
