Job summary

Vantor is searching for a Senior Systems / Electronics Engineer to join the SpaceWrx team in Westminster, CO. You will drive end-to-end development for the next-generation satellite constellation, defining architecture and requirements for mission, vehicle, and payload elements and coordinating with suppliers during manufacturing, integration, and test.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship with an active secret clearance or ability to obtain one.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Aerospace Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
• 7+ years working with space-based optical remote sensing payloads or similar hardware.
• Experience with spacecraft-payload interface development and ICDs.
• Proficient in MATLAB and Python; ability to learn new tools.
• Ability to interpret schematics, block diagrams, and PCB layouts.
• Familiarity with FPGA, processors, memory, and storage concepts.
• Cross-functional collaboration across payload, spacecraft, and ground teams.

Responsibilities

• Manage the technical interface between the imaging payload and spacecraft bus, ensuring compatibility across electrical, mechanical, thermal, and data interfaces.
• Lead and participate in system-level trades evaluating design alternatives, performance vs. cost/risk, and technology insertion opportunities.
• Model and evaluate payload power, data, and timing; contribute to ICDs.
• Assess emerging technologies, COTS/FoS hardware, and new mission concepts for system-level feasibility.
• Contribute to design reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR) and ensure payload systems meet performance and environmental constraints.
• Troubleshoot payload and bus designs down to circuit level when needed.
