Job summary

Amazon seeks a senior position in Modeling and Simulation to advance Leo satellite analyses supporting government missions. The role focuses on system-level modeling across coverage, capacity, latency, and availability, translating requirements into CONOPS and performance measures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in a relevant engineering field with related experience.
• Strong modeling and analysis skills applicable to satellite systems.
• Experience with MATLAB, C/C++, Python and link-budget concepts.

Responsibilities

• Own system-level modeling, simulation, and analysis for government mission scenarios and constellation designs.
• Translate objectives into scenarios and measures of effectiveness, and model end-to-end outcomes.
• Apply orbital mechanics, orbit geometry, reference frames, and access behavior for coverage analyses.
• Design resource scheduling and allocation approaches under power, thermal and spectrum constraints.
• Evaluate RF/optical tradeoffs to optimize customer experience against cost and spectrum.
• Build RF/optical budgets and combine with orbital dynamics to model capacity, latency, availability.
• Model inter-satellite geometry and handover behavior.
• Extend simulation tools (MATLAB, C++, Python) to support a dynamic network topology.
• Prepare technical content for government customers and reviews.
• Account for self-interference and interference with other systems.
