Job summary

Amazon Leo is Amazon's low Earth orbit satellite network. This Electrical Systems Engineering role owns requirements, trade studies, and simulation analysis for the Leo satellite power system, building models and simulations to optimize solar array, battery, and power distribution across varying operating conditions.

You will create and manage simulations to evaluate power demand across modes and orbits, and influence system architecture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science.
• 3+ years of engineering experience in electrical power systems or power electronics.
• 3+ years of experience in simulation, modeling, and requirements definition for electric power system development.
• Experience with Matlab or Python to extract, process, and store information from large datasets.

Responsibilities

• Own requirements, trade studies, and simulation analysis for the Leo satellite power system.
• Build electrical models of the satellite power system and develop capability to assess solar array power generation.
• Create and manage simulations that analyze vehicle power demand in different power modes and orbital parameters.
• Perform trade studies to influence system architecture and sizing of solar array, battery, power conversion, and power distribution blocks.
