Job summary

RTX in State College, PA, is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Technician for Satellite Ground Systems. The role focuses on designing, implementing, and maintaining software infrastructure for satellite ground systems in a DevSecOps setting on site.

You will collaborate with systems engineers, hardware designers, and software engineers to ensure secure, reliable operations. Requirements include a high school diploma with 4+ years of relevant experience and an active TS/SCI clearance.

Qualifications

• High School diploma with at least four years of professional experience.
• Active and transferable TS/SCI security clearance with adjudication date within three years prior to starting date.
• Willingness and desire to perform infrastructure‑focused work.
• Experience with software infrastructure through IT or software engineering.
• Preferred experience with VMWare and AWS.
• Preferred experience with Puppet, Ansible, and Git.
• Preferred experience with Python, Bash, and Linux administration.
• Good understanding of networking concepts.
• Software development experience in Java with unit and integration testing.
• Knowledge of satellite ground systems, space operations, or related domains is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with secure coding practices in defense or aerospace settings.
• CompTIA Security+ certification (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain software infrastructure for satellite ground systems.
• Collaborate closely with systems engineers, hardware designers, and software engineers in an agile DevSecOps environment.
• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues.
• Develop and maintain documentation for software infrastructure, including design documents, user manuals, and system administration guides.
• Define, develop, and prototype software scripts, virtualization environments, and cloud environments.
• Implement and manage continuous delivery systems and methodologies.
• Identify and implement enhancements and optimizations for continuous improvement.
