Job summary

Space Dynamics Laboratory (SDL) seeks a mid-level Multidisciplinary Systems Engineer to support AFRL satellite missions. Based in Albuquerque, New Mexico, you’ll join a joint Government and contractor team working across all phases of small satellite development, from design to operations.

You will apply broad technical knowledge across mechanical, electrical, thermal, optical, software and other domains, contributing to documentation, analysis and testing while growing your mentoring and

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related science with 4–10 years (or a master’s with 2–8 years) of experience.
• Knowledge across mechanical, electrical, thermal, optical, software, controls, astrodynamics, navigation, propulsion, or guidance.
• Proficient with system engineering tools and analysis methods.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work individually or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Support AFRL satellite missions as a key member of a joint Government and contractor team.
• Contribute to small satellite design including documentation, analysis, fabrication, integration, testing, launch and operations.
• Develop system-level understanding with attention to detail.
