Job summary

Lockheed Martin Space in the United States (New Mexico) seeks an Operations Director to provide 24x7 leadership for spacecraft flight operations, guiding readiness, execution, and evaluation phases across teams tasked with orbit dynamics and satellite performance analysis.

The role involves managing 12-hour rotating shifts and coordinating responses to hardware and software issues while interfacing with senior staff and customer representatives to ensure mission success.

Qualifications

• Must have prior operations experience.
• Experience working in a dynamic customer environment with strong customer intimacy.
• Strong written and verbal communications skills.
• Must have technical domain knowledge of the program.
• Must have technical leadership experience collaborating across customer and contractor boundaries.
• Current TS/SCI security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Conducts mission/program specific real time spacecraft/satellite flight operations during readiness, execution and evaluation phases.
• Develops detailed plans and procedures to maximize mission support in orbit dynamics and satellite performance analyses.
• Provides technical direction for on-orbit mission support and plans for critical vehicle malfunctions; recommends alternate operating techniques.
