Lockheed Martin in Aurora, Colorado is seeking a Satellite Systems Engineer to join our team. The role covers real-time spacecraft flight operations across readiness, execution, and evaluation, with emphasis on orbit dynamics and satellite performance analysis.

You will develop procedures, provide technical direction for mission support, and analyze telemetry to identify improvements. Collaboration with multiple engineering groups and on-call rotations may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM field (e.g., Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical, Mathematics, Systems, Physics, CS).
• Experience working with on-orbit spacecraft or satellite flight operations.
• Proficiency in Linux, MATLAB, Java, C++, Perl, Oracle/SQL, HTML/XML or scripting.
• Strong problem solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work well in a team and be a self-initiated learner.

Responsibilities

• Conducts real-time spacecraft flight operations during readiness, execution, and evaluation phases.
• Develops detailed plans and procedures for orbital dynamics and satellite performance analysis.
• Provides technical direction for on-orbit mission support and plans for critical malfunctions.
• Uses system software to perform spacecraft control tasks and analyzes telemetry data.
• Performs flight length orbit adjustments and daily special event studies.
