Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Mission Operations Development Lead Engineer to support multiple satellite programs from our Gilbert, AZ campus. This full-time role leads development and execution of on-orbit operations across the full mission lifecycle, including LEOPS, NOMOPS, and end-of-life planning.

The candidate will develop on-orbit procedures, automate scripts, and author operator handbooks. Required are a Bachelor's in engineering, 8+ years experience (6 if Master’s), and active SCI

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in engineering or related discipline; 8+ years of relevant experience, 6+ years with a Master’s, 4+ years with a PhD.
• Requires an active Top-Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) clearance with willingness to polygraph.
• Experience with on-orbit mission operations and/or resolving satellite/ground system anomalies.
• Experience with at least one spacecraft subsystem (e.g., ADCS/GNC, C&DH, communications, power, thermal, flight software, orbital planning).

Responsibilities

• Provide mission operations support to satellite programs across LEOPS, NOMOPS, payload operations, and EOL phases.
• Lead on-orbit procedure development and automation scripts.
• Develop and maintain on-orbit handbooks and operator guides for LEOPS and NOMOPS.
• Lead rehearsal activities for LEOPS, MRTs, MRs, DITLs, and payload events.
• Support on-console operations during launch and early orbit phases.
