Job summary

Raytheon is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer (Hardware Engineering) to support SATCOM operations and ground systems engineering. The role includes acting as a subject matter expert for future communication system designs, projects, and upgrades, with location in Alexandria, VA.

You will perform fault isolation, real-time restoration, and contribute to testing, documentation, and procedures while collaborating with stakeholders to ensure operational performance and mission readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM and at least 5 years of engineering experience.
• Experience in SATCOM operations, sustainment, or theory.
• Experience with IT systems and SATCOM-related test equipment.
• Active TS/SCI CI Poly security clearance with U.S. citizenship.
• Strong presentation and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct system fault isolation, real-time restoration, discrepancy report resolution, and data collection.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, contractors, and stakeholders to validate performance.
• Drive innovation by contributing to new concepts for customer value.
• Support integration and testing efforts as required.
• Perform O&M activities in data centers and outdoor spaces, including physical tasks.
• Participate in a 24/7 operations environment on a rotating basis as needed.
