Job summary

Amazon LEO SATCOM is seeking a skilled Support Engineer to join the Technical Support team in Arlington, VA. You will diagnose and resolve escalated satellite network issues, analyze performance data, and deliver technical solutions to customers and internal teams.

In this role, you will document solutions, contribute to our knowledge base, and participate in on-call rotations to ensure continuous service and customer satisfaction across a global constellation of satellites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience.
• Extensive ISP/Service Provider network architecture and operations experience.
• Advanced networking: BGP, OSPF/ISIS, MPLS, IPv4/IPv6, QoS and security.
• SDWAN/SDN design, deployment and operations (Viptela, VeloCloud or Versa).
• Expert knowledge of Cisco IOS families; familiarity with Juniper/Arista.
• Strong troubleshooting, root cause analysis and capacity planning.
• Certifications such as CCNP/CCIE/JNCIE or AWS Solutions Architect.
• Experience with SDN controllers, orchestration and app-aware routing.
• NOC operations with emergency response and on-call experience.

Responsibilities

• Handle escalated cases involving service degradation and perform methodical problem analysis.
• Analyze performance data (latency, jitter, packet loss) and configurations to restore service.
• Develop and document technical solutions and contribute to knowledge base.
• Provide advanced technical guidance to customers and internal teams.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve complex network issues.
• Maintain on-call coverage and support rotating shift schedules.
